The Kansas Water Environment Association is in its tenth year of providing scholarships for university students wishing to pursue a career in environmental areas and financial assistance for training in environmental vocational technical areas. Five awards will be made available in 2010: Three University - $1000, $750, and $500 and two $500.00 awards for technical school students. There are no financial need requirements, only an essay and other application information on academic achievement and other activities.
University applications will be solicited in January 2010 and accepted until February 20, 2010. The University Scholarships will be awarded in April 2010 at a KWEA Board meeting and will be formally announced at the KWEA conference banquet on September 1, 2010 in Topeka, Kansas. Applications for Vo-Tech wastewater training financial assistance can be submitted for consideration anytime throughout the year.
The awards are limited to students attending Kansas schools.
