Committee Objective and Goals

The Kansas Water Environment Association’s Publicity Committee’s objectives are to promote the activities of the Association to the Water Environment Association, other professional and technical organizations, and the public at-large. The Committee shall promote activities of the Association, its members, and the Water Environment Association through available media, and by providing information to all activities which support the goals of the Association.

Committee Activities

The Publicity Committee shall conduct, but not be limited to, the following activities:

1. Prepare press releases and advertisements announcing Association meetings, conferences, and activities.
2. Prepare press releases announcing the new officers of the Association after each Annual Meeting. Distribute this material to local and State press agencies, WEF, and State associations and government agencies.
3. Prepare press releases announcing the Plant Award winners after each Annual Meeting. Distribute this material to local and State press agencies, and the KWEA publications (including web site).
4. Prepare press releases to the WEF, local and State press, and KWEA publications that announce members selected to receive Association honors and awards. Distribute press releases when awards can be announced.
5. Assist the Association Board and Ambassador position in publicizing new activities and/or initiatives of the Association.
6. Obtain photographs of association events for KWEA publications and publicity.
7. The committee chair shall submit a written report to the Vice President on the committee's activities at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting. The Vice President will compile the committee reports, distribute them to the Board, and turn them over to the new vice president for use in assessing changes for the next program year.
