Committee Objective and Goals
The Kansas Water Environment Association’s Membership Committee’s objectives are to promote membership in the Kansas Water Environment. The Committee shall conduct activities to promote new members in all categories, to retain existing members, and to encourage affiliate members to become full members.
Committee Activities
The Membership Committee shall conduct, but not be limited to the following activities:
- Develop a membership drive and/or contest for each year. Develop the rules for the membership drive, and prizes to be distributed to members who are responsible for new members joining the Association.
- Prepare a summary of the membership drive results. Present the report at the Annual Meeting. Distribute awards to those who qualify by sponsoring new members.
- Report to the Executive Board any conditions which may be adversely affecting membership retention and/or restricting the growth of the membership of the Association.
- Prepare periodic summaries of the membership for use in publications and correspondence with WEF and other organizations.
- Distribute membership materials at all Association meetings. Develop and maintain a membership benefit packet/handbook that can be provided to new or prospective members.
- Assist the Secretary-Treasurer at the registration desk of the Annual Conference.
- Maintain and update membership database and make it available to Association members.
- Work with Ambassador position by providing assistance with membership recruitment, providing information and documents, and attending functions related to new/prospective members.
- Arrange/organize program for on-going personal contact with new members as well as periodic contact with current members. Periodically, conduct a survey to ask members what they think of the Association’s activities and services. The committee chair shall submit a written report to the Vice President on the committee's activities at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting. The Vice President will compile the committee reports, distribute them to the Board, and turn them over to the new vice president for use in assessing changes for the next program year.
