Committee Activities

The Industrial Committee shall conduct, but not be limited to the following activities:

1. Meet at least two (2) times per year to provide a forum for discussion of industrial waste treatment issues.
2. Provide articles and information relating to industrial issues for publication in Splashings.
3. In conjunction with the Government Affairs Committee, represent KWEA to KDHE, WEF, and EPA on matters regarding water quality, treatment standards, and NPDES permit programs that affect industries in the State.
4. Facilitate the Industrial Treatment Symposium at the KWEA Annual Conference with a focus on industrial issues that are important to industries in the State.
5. Apprise the KWEA Board of industrial treatment and water quality issues that the Committee feels KWEA membership should be aware of.
6. Facilitate industrial treatment workshops at the Fall min-conference, focusing on operations and maintenance of industrial pretreatment systems.
7. In conjunction with KETS, provide opportunities for industrial operators to obtain training for any certification for this area.
8. The committee chair shall submit a written report to the Vice President on the committee's activities at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting. The Vice President will compile the committee reports, distribute them to the Board, and turn them over to the new vice president for use in assessing changes for the next program year.
